Common questions
Will I lose my data during a repair?
Most repairs do not affect the data stored on your phone, but any repair carries some risk. It is a good idea to back up your photos and files beforehand whenever you can.
How do you know if my phone can be fixed?
A technician needs to look at the phone and the type of damage before saying what it needs. Availability of the right part for your specific model also affects what is possible.
Should I remove my SIM or memory card first?
Removing a SIM or memory card before a repair is a reasonable precaution if you want to keep using it in another device or simply want it kept separate during the work.
Can a phone with a passcode still be repaired?
Yes. If the repair or a check of the repair requires getting into the phone's software, you will need to provide the passcode or be present to enter it yourself.
I forgot my passcode. Can you help?
Often we can look into it. Bring the phone and a photo ID, and proof of purchase if you have it. A reset is not possible on every phone, and it is only done for phones that belong to you.
Will a passcode reset erase my phone?
It can. Getting back into a phone after the passcode or password is forgotten sometimes needs a reset that erases the data on it, so back up first if you are able to.
Do I need to prove the phone is mine?
You may be asked. Passcode and password resets are only for phones you own, so bring a photo ID and, if you have it, a receipt or other proof of purchase.
